Hooked podcast
The show aimed to appeal to everyone, from those who feel they know nothing about drugs and want to gain more information, to current users looking for some sound advice and to professionals working with drug using clients.
Hooked 45: NSP equipment
This episode of Hooked Allison and I discuss the types of eqipment usually stocked within UK needle programmes.
Of course being Hooked we do go on a number of tangents into related areas, this includes talking about how appropriate (or not) it is to have NSP workers carry a caseload of clients on top of their NSP work.
Hooked 44: Interview with Allan Clear
This episode of Hooked is an interview with the wonderful Allan Clear of the arm Reduction Coalition
We discuss, harm reduction history, the current situation in both the UK and the US as well as comparing how different the two have been over the years.
Hooked 43: Heroin Drought
This episode of Hooked was recorded at the end of January in the middle of the recent heroin drought, although in many places heroin is returning to its previous strengths its still something that I think we need to keep in mind.
We discuss the need to be aware of overdose issues and to talk to people about getting into treatment.
Hooked 42: Exchange Supplies
In todays Hooked podcast we again talk to Andrew Preston this time about his company Exchange Supplies who produce some of the best and most innovative equipment and resources there are for drug services.
It's no secret that I'm a fan of Exchange Supplies and the work they do for the community, so it was a pleasure to have some quality time to talk with Andrew.
Hooked 41: Ray Stephens
Todays Hooked podcast is a conversation I had with Ray Stephens during the IHRA conference in April. Ray is a trainer at Moreland Hall in Australia and also runs the stimulant based site called Bluebelly.
We talked about the use of social media and other websites in harm reduction as well as Rays other work. Ray is a great bloke to talk to and someone who I intend on continuing to work with on online projects.
Hooked 40: Difficult advice
Difficult advice is something that every drug worker is familiar with. It may be because the advice itself is an 'inconvenient truth' or because it's a situation that feels quite raw for ourselves and giving advice feels to personal.
This is one of our more serious shows (unlike last times show on contraception which I still keep chuckling at) but has been described by one listener as 'the best Hooked podcast yet'.
Hooked 39: Contraception
We decided it was time to do a show on contraception, mainly because sexual health is something that drug services are supposed to address. I will say one thing before you download this show though, this one is not safe for listening to in polite company.
Because of the topic, and of course our 'presenting style' this turned out to be one of the funnier shows we've done.
