Back in June I released the NSP Outcomes Tool This was an attempt to make a simple to use but flexible assessment/review tool that could be used in the relatively short time that most needle transactions happen in. Because of the need to make it so simple it unfortunately didn’t include anything around the use of steroids and other performance/image enhancing drugs (PIEDs). So now I’ve designed a NSP tool specifically for use with PIED users.
Over the last year or so I’ve come across a lot of people talking about developing tools for monitoring ‘Outcomes’ in needle & syringe programmes (NSP), but I’ve yet to see one that actually manages to work in real life. So I’ve been developing a tool for NSPs that may be a solution.
Steroid use and the use of other performance & image enhancing drugs (PIEDs) have been on the rise in the UK for a number of years now. We even have services reporting that over 50% of new injectors visiting their needle programmes come from these groups. To help try and address this I’ve developed a PIED assessment tool.

This is a workshop on crack cocaine and safer pipe use, and of course includes all the information needed to run a successful harm reduction focused workshop with clients and/or staff. The workshop may also be of interest to people currently smoking crack cocaine as it contains important information on keeping yourself safe.
